Create Hell In Your Life and Then Go Through It

Making another person your reason for working "hard" is not enough.

People come and go, so your discipline has to come from a deeper drive. Their bad habits will bring you down into assimilation.

Suddenly, you're 30lbs overweight sitting on a coach eating bad food with people who also lack discipline, and you're wondering what happened to your life.

Your life partner leaves you.
Your colleagues no longer respect you.
People no longer ask you for advice.
You've suddenly become "average."

If you are going to master your identity and leave an indelible mark on the world, then you're going to have to create hell in the areas of your life you want growth.

Want to lose weight and get that "summer bod"?

Don't make the beach or dating new people your motivation.

Instead, sign up for fitness competitions and martial arts tournaments. Now you're creating hell because those events force you to transform or be defeated.

Want to perform better in sales?
Want to buy a bigger house?
Want to write a book?
Want to grow your social media following?

Great. You can do all those things, but your results will be mediocre until you choose to put yourself through hell.

These things cannot just be "wants."
They need to become "musts".

And the best way to turn a want into a "must" is to create situations in your life where there is absolutely no way out. Where, if you miss the mark, you stand to lose everything.

One great way of creating this level of urgency is to give a friend a thousand dollars. Tell that friend, "if I do not hit X goal in Y time, then you keep the money."

Watch how you suddenly stop listening to all your bullshit excuses and start taking action.

When you put yourself in positions where you have EVERYTHING to lose if you do not accomplish your goal, then you stand to lose EVERYTHING.

What are some of your goals? What are some ways you're going to put yourself through hell to get there? What will you sacrifice? How will you put yourself on the line and stand to lose everything if you don't hit achieve this goal?
